Overview: The project was a collaboration between the Beep Autonomous team and SCADpro, researching and developing concepts for defining the optimal rider and customer experience. Beep, as an autonomous vehicle company, provided a complete mobility solution, and the student team focused on the physical vehicle platform, the overall user experience, and the Beep brand.
The team collectively carried out research from multiple aspects, which helped each design group (UX design, Industrial design, Branding) yield some solid and beautiful designs. The deliverable included the interior and exterior of a newly designed autonomous bus, the UX package (App, Onboard screen, Smart bus stop), and a branding package (Beep and Yara: a newly created voice assistant).

We were a team of 14 students and 2 professors from 9 design fields and 5 cultures. It was a truly fascinating chance to be able to work with these wonderful and talented people.
My main role in this team was the Project Manager and a UX Co-lead. As for specific jobs, I made plans and schedules for the whole team and allocated work across different groups. I also utilized my Service Design skills and facilitated the research and ideation for the whole team as well as for the UX design group. Aside from these, I was responsible for managing communication within and outside of the team. Last but not least, I worked as the last pair of eyes to proofread, overwatch, and deliver every final deliverable that the team had created.

In order to increase the accessibility of Beep buses, the online ride scheduling feature is available through both a Beep App and a specifically designed Smart Bus Stop.
At the same time, to provide helpful information, timely assistance, and welcoming reception to bus riders, a voice assistant named Yara is proposed for both Beep App and all onboard screens.
